"A beautiful portrait should be classic and absolutely timeless, an image that you can gaze at forever." Anne Geddes
Around 10 years ago we started seeing more and more images of newborns and babies in all varieties of props: baskets, boxes, cute animal outfits, you name it. Our reaction was "Oh, cute!", "Adorable!", "If i had a baby...." Now this style of photography is at its peak. And while many photographers do an excellent job in this, we believe the photograph should be about the model and not the subjects surrounding it.
Our style is "Simplicity. Elegance. Timeless."
When choosing your newborn and family photographer ask yourself: how important this photograph is going to be in years to come. What my child will think about his images in 10-20 years. We want to take pictures that tell your child's story, capture his history and those little details of his first days of life. When your children look back we don't want being questioned why they were photographed in a certain way or in that outfit that they don't find cute anymore. We want them to look and see love of their family they were photographed with, see their pure origins, timeless images.
Dress, accessories even toys today may today well be in fashion and tomorrow they are out, at times may even be questioned... With this in mind we do of course take your preferences on board, the artistic interpretation, however, remains the final call of the artist.
In addition, we prefer to photograph with natural light, again an artistic choice. Why we do this is simply because natural light results in more natural skin tones, softer shadows and highlights. This is not an excuse for the absence of professional lighting gear, in the contrary we work with one of the most known professional systems in the market but do use the same only if and when required.
